With the aim of teaching as many people as possible to be happier, The BTI Institute offers a range of services based on extensive research, particularly from the growing field of positive psychology. Positive psychology is one of the fastest growing and most exciting areas of health and well-being and is based on the premise that it is not enough just to manage stress and depression.

A scientific approach to improving quality of life

The BTI is training and an independent think tank exploring why some societies are happier than others. The mission is to inform candidates of the causes and effects of human happiness, make subjective well-being part of the public policy debate, and improve overall quality of life for citizens across the world.

When we examine how an economy is doing, we look at GDP per capita, growth, unemployment, inflation and interest rates. Each indicator gives us information about the status of the economy. Similarly, when we measure quality of life – we can examine
different dimensions such as the cognitive, the affective and the eudemonic dimension.

How we measure Wellbeing

Building on measurement guidelines and benchmarks from the BTI, we combine qualitative and quantitative methods to provide insights on the level of well-being, happiness and quality of life. Whether we measure happiness, wellbeing or quality of life we are faced with the same challenges. They are all complex concepts. Therefore, we need to analyze different components.
